That Caterina is pulling back from his duties is a pretty good indication that he won't be seeking re-election -- at least not as a councillor. He ran provincially for the Alberta Alliance in 2004, receiving 280 votes (2.5 per cent) trying to knock off Laurie Blakeman in Edmonton Centre. Perhaps, with the successful Wildrose rebranding, he senses he might do a little bit better this time around.

It is times like this when elected representatives need to look back and reflect on the policies and campaign promises that got them elected, and how they are best serving their constituents.

I didn't find his quotes all that bizarre except the one about bloggers, people fear what they don't understand and therefore cannot control. His voting against items out of spite because of previous, unrelated items is just bullshit. The only constituents he represented by his comments yesterday won't even be able to legally vote for another 8 years.

He should start a blog... might go some way toward improving his public image. or, further tarnishing it.

I know ;)

However, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that #toncat reads blogs regularly and secretly wants to start one.

It seems to me that TonCat's the new Mike Nickel. Hey, what happened to him, anyway?

... oh yeah! He was defeated in the last election!
