You know the situation is getting bad when the writers of worms and viruses insult each other in their code. The last thing we need are competitions going on that will only increase the number of worms that spread!
On the other hand, as a developer, I find this kind of funny!
Only a few short hours ago, I complained about 379. I thought it was over. I had no motivation to do the assignment, and I needed a “miracle” to get it done. Well now, five hours later, with no prayers said, the assignment is finished 🙂
There is no one looking out for us, we have to look out for each other!

I have decided I really dislike CMPUT 379. How can an assignment that takes so many hours be worth 12% when an exam that takes 50 minutes is worth 25%? Doesn’t seem right to me!
Of course, I don’t agree with exams as a way of gauging a person’s knowledge. Like my 391 prof says, it should be like the old days, when there was a master and his student, and the student passed when the master felt he was ready!
A new story over at NYTimes.com says that “students who tracked their lies for a week reported telling lies in 15 percent of email messages”. Does that sound like a lot to you? The article goes on to say that the students told lies in more than a third of phone calls.
I try to avoid the phone as much as possible, but I can see how it would be easy to lie on the phone. There is no record, and if you can make a convincing tone, you are set. Email leaves a record, as do instant messages, and face to face is harder to pull off, as most people crack under pressure.
If you are a serious blogger, do you lie in your posts? I don’t think I have ever lied in a blog post, but I am guilty of all the other categories! I think the percentage of lies told in blogs would probably be quite low, but who am I to say? 🙂
I am sure a number of interesting personalities will emerge from Blogosphere.ca over time. Already it appears as though we have our own “Don Cherry”. Sounds good to me!
Well for those of you who have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that it has been a goal of mine to get more people blogging! I can proudly say that Dickson and I seem to have accomplished that goal with Blogosphere.ca.
