Google Video launched

As if they didn’t have enough things in beta already, Google has launched Google Video – a service for searching through TV shows. The results show the title of the show, a brief description, the network, the time, and a screenshot. Here’s a USA Today article on the new search.

  1. Google Video is not impressive at all. You don’t get to search video and there are only like 5 channels to search from. I know this is a "prototype" but if it is any hint as to what the real product is, I don’t think I will be very eager to use it in the future. For those of you who want to do some real video search, check out http://www.blinkx.tv.

  2. oh yes! i was using google to start my video searching and then I came across your post. I tried blinkxtv over the weekend and wow! is all i have to say. they have like so many more channels, and real video coverage! not just images. its really impressive! I dont know why google is not trying to follow blinkxTV’s lead on this one, they are going to be left behind in the dusT!
