Here are my weekly Edmonton notes:
- Sunday’s Earth Day festivities at Hawrelak Park have been cancelled and will be rescheduled, according to the Facebook event page.
- In case you missed it earlier, today was the grand opening of the city’s two newest LRT stations!
- On Thursday, the City announced that Donate-A-Ride has donated roughly $1.1 million in transit tickets to social agencies since the program began in 1996.
- Alberta’s Information and Privacy Commissioner’s office says the Google Street View data is expected to be online by the end of June.
- Edmonton Youth Week starts on May 1st and runs until the 7th. The kickoff runs from 3pm to 9pm at the Mill Woods Recreation Centre.
- Construction season is getting started! The City says there are more than 100 projects on the go representing a $400 million investment.
- Cityfarm, a charity that helps children learn about farming is shutting down due to funding issues.
- The new Cactus Club Cafe in West Edmonton Mall cost more than $7 million to build. I attended the VIP opening with Sharon, which you can read about here.
