Seattle Trip Day #5

Today was my final day in Seattle. I got up early as planned, and started to pack my suitcase. I quickly realized that I was going to run out of room if I bought anything else! I headed down to Starbucks (the original) and got a coffee, as well as some merchandise. Let me tell you, that is the largest amount of money I have ever spent at Starbucks in one shot!

On my way back towards the hotel, I stopped and got a duffel bag – didn’t think to pack one when I left! I also then stopped at the Nordstroms and looked around, but nothing really sprung out at me, so I didn’t end up buying anything. Instead I walked around a bit and took a couple pictures, then went back to the hotel and packed.

It was nice out today in both Seattle and Vancouver, very sunny! The trip from the hotel to the airport was nice, seeing everything bright and green. Reminded me that I didnt really want to come home yet! I also took notice of something I hadn’t on the way in – the extensive road system! Over, under, around, across, you name it, the freeway had roads doing it.

Huge lines at the airport, but what can you expect. Also some womens (high school/college) sports team of some sort, so that was some good scenery! Oh, and I must say, Canadian Customs officials are WAY nicer than American Customs. I never ran into anyone rude in Seattle, everyone was very nice, but the American Customs in Vancouver was atrocious.

I spent a lot of time in airports today, so I consumed more Starbucks. Thats a lot of coffee in the last two days if anyone is counting. I also got some work done for once, Imagine Cup is gonna rock! I also found a couple of great books, and I have read most of “How Would You Move Mount Fuji?”. The other book looks extremely interesting to me, “The Human Factor” by Kim Vicente.

I got into Edmonton tonight around 9:15, roughly the same temperature here as it was on the west coast. I stopped at McDonalds on the way in, waited in line for like 15 minutes, get to the window, and the kid looks at my debit card and says the Interac is down. I just about lost it on him, “put up a mother-goddammed sign!”. Oooooh I was mad. Oh well, went to a different one and got my cheeseburgers πŸ™‚

Oh well, it was a good trip, met lots of great people, learned a few things, drank tons of Starbucks, and got to to relax a bit from school and the like. Thanks for reading about my adventures – I will try to make them more exciting on my next trip, which if all goes according to plan, will be Brazil! For now however, it’s back to work 😦
