Here are my weekly Edmonton notes:

- Here is the latest Edmonton Next Gen weekly newsletter.
- The Edmonton Public Library has launched an Open Data portal.
- The City is considering a transit levy for developers building new neighbourhoods.
- Local tech company Matrikon has been named one of Alberta’s Top 50 Employers for 2010.
- This was apparently Edmonton’s busiest construction season – over 16 communities were revitalized.
- Airco Aircraft Charters is suing the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority over the planned closure of the City Centre Airport.
- Daryl Katz has built a hockey arena right next door to his house. Old news, but still pretty crazy.
- Great article in the Globe and Mail this week on Edmonton’s excellent environmental track record.
- Sounds like the 2010 Municipal Census will go ahead despite the $1.9 million price tag.
- The first of artsScene Edmonton’s Behind the Scenes series takes place on Monday, at the Edmonton Opera.
- The latest interVivos event, called Punch Drunk, takes place on Thursday.
- Of course, Halloween is coming up. Check out dEdmonton and a good list at I Heart Edmonton.
