Edmonton Notes for 11/14/2010

I’ve been experimenting with another Edmonton-focused blog this week. I call it Edmonton Etcetera. As I come across Edmonton stuff online, I post it there. I see it as sort of in between Twitter and this blog. Check it out (here’s the archive of recent entries) and let me know what you think – I’ll write more about it later.

Here are my weekly Edmonton notes:

We’ve had great weather for November, and more than a few beautiful sunrises too.

Xmas Spirit
Houses around the city are getting ready for the holidays!

Holiday Light Up
If you’re looking to get into the Christmas spirit, check out the Green & Gold themed tree in Churchill Square.

  1. Another great roundup, Mack, and thanks for all the links. I thought you and your readers might like to know that edmontonjournal.com will be livestreaming EEDC’s Economic Outlook Luncheon on Tuesday, for those who can’t make it to the Shaw. It will be live on http://www.livestream.com/edmontonjournal when the talking starts, and we’ll be actively moderating the chat on that page as well.
I’m also interested in knowing whether people would like us to livestream more, and if so, what kinds of events you’d like to see.

  2. I agree, great roundup! And I have an Edmonton addition:

So Nice, which produces sustainable, organic soy beverages (with soybeans sourced only in Canada and the US) is running a contest asking how Canadians would spend $5,000 towards a better organic world. One of the judges is Edomonton blogger and food educator Valerie Lugonja, who is also an executive member of Slow Food Edmonton.

I bet there are lots of sustainable ideas that could come out of Edmonton–city planning? LED lights? Water management?

  3. Hey there, firstly, I want to let you know that I think it’s a good website you have here. And to the point, I haven’t found out the way to include your website feed in my feed reader – where’s the link to the feed? Many thanks
