Rain in Edmonton, No Lightning in Calgary

Tonight I was invited to Megan’s to watch the hockey game. I was the lone Tampa Bay fan, but it was fun anyways (even though the Flames won). There was Little Caesers Pizza and Alexander Keith’s Beer. Doesn’t get much better! Thanks Fowlers!

To read all about the game, check out the SportsGuru’s writeup.

Rain, Rain, Rain

In case you hadn’t noticed, it rained tonight! I was outside all evening, supporting Megan’s team in the cancer fundraising taking place at Foote Field. It’s a walkathon, and each team has to have two people walking at all times. Megan and I even walked for a shift (30 minutes). I think it goes til like 1 PM tomorrow.

They might have picked a better night though, as it was quite wet! Still it was fairly warm, and I didn’t REALLY care as Megan’s cousin was present 🙂

RE: Finding Jesus at TechEd

At first I just left a comment on Rory’s post, but then I decided I should share this with all of you. After all, the religious blog wars have been kind of dead lately haven’t they? In any case, read his post. It is the perfect example of what most religious groups need – a good wake up call to mind their own goddamned business. Enjoy!

Pure CF

Kim was in town again today, home tomorrow. Her group was at the waterpark and shopping today so I met them for a movie tonight. Guess what? If you have been reading my blog lately, you might guess. There were only two shows playing at SilverCity that I hadn’t seen – 13 Going On 30, and New York Minute.

Hard decision, but wanting to stay out of jail for now (unlike Dickson), we went to see Jennifer Garner. She was hot, but don’t be fooled, the movie is rated 100% CF. I can’t say it was THAT bad even though it was very girly. Cute story though!

omg I used the word ‘cute’….its so over…but, still out of jail!

I remember TFC…

Here is something for everyone who plays, or more likely, used to play TFC. Or even for those of us that will try Half-Life 2 if it ever comes out. I give you the ‘Blackmesa’ PC case mod.

Blogosphere.ca Updated!

The new site has been uploaded and is now live. There are a few things we are still working on, but all the functionality that previously existed still works in the new design. The links have changed however:

This means the old links to the blogs may not work (we setup some redirects, but not all). If you have any problems, let me know.

Happy Birthday Greg, Fowler Anniversary!

Friday night was Greg’s birthday celebration at the Druid downtown. I think Dickson and I did a good job of making sure Greg won’t remember a thing – good call on that winning shot Dickson! Wondering what the winning shot was?

Bartender: What can I get for you?
Dickson: Give me the nastiest shot you have.

And believe me, it was nasty. The shot glass smelled so bad, so horribly bad. But Greg took it like a man!

Last night was the 30th Anniversary celebration for Megan’s parents. Even though the average age was much higher than I can count, it was fun! Andrew gave two very funny speeches, and is now known as “Tom’s Little Buddy”. Also, I finally got to meet Megan’s cousin Christine. That was good 🙂

Shrek 2 and Blogosphere Updates!

My sister was in town for a couple days, on her way to Vancouver for some youth parliament event, so last night we went to see Shrek 2. It was quite funny, in some ways funnier than the first one, but in some ways not. That is to be expected I guess, as most of the characters are the same. Definitely worth the money however!

Now I will take a moment to share a teaser of some upcoming Blogosphere changes! Check out our new logo:

The new site is amazing (if I do say so myself). I would call it sexy! More to come soon!

Blogosphere

Chu made a very cool post today, and no it isnt about girls! He posted the EdmontonGasPrices.com ticker! Check it out, its really scary!

Well neither Dickson nor I have done a Blogosphere.ca update in quite a while, so here are the latest statistics:

  • We are 6 days away from three months of existence!
  • We have launched Blogosphere Media which has released two radio shows.
  • There are 39 bloggers, who have contributed to 386 posts and 22 articles.
  • People have left 956 comments, and linked to posts 18 times (this number should be WAY higher).
  • The site has had 282,057 hits, a total of 26,121 visitors, and total transfer of 4.11 GB (thanks to Chu and Inge’s damn photos).
  • The most popular day in our history was May 10th, when 629 visitors flooded the site.
  • The busiest time of day is from 11 PM until midnight. The least busy is 6 AM.
  • Korea is the 4th most active country to visit the site.
  • Popular search engine keywords used to find our site include “milk”, “animal”, “hunnies”, “hot”, “snowboarding”, “william”, “asian”, “groban”, “and girls”. Most popular search phrase by a long shot is “milk and cereal asian version”.
  • Roughly 55% of you use Internet Explorer 6, and thanks to me, Lynx cracked our top 10 to contribute 2.37%!

That’s enough for now. Let’s keep it going!
