- The next Divertido networking event will be at Coney Island Candy on October 21!

- From the edmontonian: Why join a community league?
- Speed limits will be dropping for some neighbourhoods to 30 km/h.

- The University of Alberta has moved up in a recent ranking of universities around the world from 74th to 59th. Getting closer to the goal of top 20 by 2020!
- Edmonton won the top honour at the national Communities in Bloom awards!
- A new 27-minute video entitled “Edmonton 2030 – It’s Our Time” will air on CTV and Global on Monday. You can see the trailer here.
- Premier Stelmach is also making a TV appearance next week, on Wednesday evening.
- One of the big discussions that took place this week was about preserving the view atop Edmonton’s ravines and river valley.
- Alberta Advanced Education & Technology is running a survey for the digital media and e-learning sectors. Also, the Innovation Voucher Pilot Program kicks off October 26.
- No economic slowdown for Capital Power – they’re on a hiring blitz.
- Sharon wrote about Edmonton’s newest bakery, Duchess Bake Shop on 124th Street.
- The traffic layer in Google Maps is now live for Edmonton. Street View, unfortunately, is not.
- Coming up next Saturday – ChangeCampEdmonton! Register here. Also next Saturday – Edmonton’s 1st Timeraiser.
- Fall sure didn’t last long – winter arrived this week, complete with snow! Here’s a great photo essay from Alex of the first snowfall.
Love Duchess Bake Shop! They have already contributed to my “thanksgiving waistline.”
